The survivors are glorious outsiders — geek, goth, disabled, fat, lesbian — who band together to take back their school and save the world. In the initial drafts of "A Murderer's Work," there are two big scenes--one in a Spanish dorm room, the other in a (real, non-digital) car on my commute--that were actually the first things I wrote. Forget the movie, it does little to no justice to this phenomenally written novel that is equal parts terrifying and hilarious.

Bill Willingham’s Fables features a Pinocchio that was turned into a real boy by the Blue Fairy only to become furious to remain stuck in the body of a child for the next few hundred years.
