Perhaps the most intriguing of these is Amazing Spider-Man: Family Business. Barefoot Gen has been repeatedly banned in its home country of Japan, but remains one of the most read manga in the world. A good many of these works will get little if any coverage in the English language, which makes this annual round-up all the more valuable and revelatory.
